Rwanda’s national air carrier, RwandAir on April 27 commenced flights to Nigeria's capital Abuja. The Abuja route is the airline’s second destination in Nigeria.
RwandAir announced the maiden flight to Abuja on its twitter saying that the flight will be operated by 737-700 and it will be a direct flight setting out from Kigali four times a week on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
Patrick Manzi, the Senior Manager Promotions and Customer Loyalty said that Abuja will help RwandAir to increase connectivity between East and West Africa and the rest of the network and enhance partnership between the two countries.
The new route will be tagged to the existing Ghana's Accra and stop in Abuja before heading to Accra.
The airline announced in February that it will also start flights to Cape Town, South Africa, which will increase RwandAir's destinations to 26.
