President Paul Kagame has today led the East African Community (EAC) ministers and officials who joined thousands of residents in the Kicukiro District of the City of Kigali for the monthly community work also known as Umuganda.

Kagame reminded Rwandans and the high profile guests from the region importance of working together as a recipe for development.

“I want to begin by thanking you all for joining us for Umuganda. Umuganda is about working hard and working together, to transform our country,” observed Kagame.

He was addressing thousands who convened at Nyanza Genocide Memorial where they are building water trenches.

The President encouraged Rwandans to always join their counterparts in the EAC in the transformation of their countries.

“When we work together, we achieve more and go even further. Whenever you travel in the East African community, whether Uganda, Kenya, Burundi, Tanzania, South Sudan, when you find them doing work to transform their country, join them,” said Kagame.

“We want to join hands and work together in Rwanda, in East Africa and across the whole continent. We believe in cooperation and working together. Those are the values we stand for,” he said.
