George Kalisa

Authorities in Rwanda have said that travels between provinces and the City of Kigali will indefinitely remain closed. They said late yesterday that the decision was taken in the interest of public health after reassessment.

According to the Cabinet’s decision made nearly two weeks ago taxi motorcyclists were supposed to resume transport services today. But, this is not about to happen according to the new directive.

“After reassessment, transportation between provinces and the City of Kigali, as well as passenger moto services, will remain closed until further notice in the interest of public health,” said the Office of the Prime Minister in a tweet.

The Cabinet will announce new Covid-19 measures tomorrow.

“Further Covid-19 measures will be announced by Cabinet on Tuesday 2 June,”
