Rwanda’s First Lady Jeannette Kagame has said that knowledge is the most powerful weapon, which young people should protect and improve through various productive activities including sports and recreational activities.
She called on the youths to quit and distance themselves from immoral activities citing the commonest addictive habits such as consumption of drugs and alcohol.
“The most powerful weapon you have is your knowledge, be protective and always endeavour to sharpen it even more through physical exercises, reading, innovating, and leisure. However, shun immoral practices including alcohol and drug abuse because they are deadly,” remarked Jeannette Kagame.
The First Lady was September 14, addressing over 750 Imbuto Foundation beneficiaries at Groupe Scolaire Sainte Bernadette whose education is supported by her organization through Edified Generation SAVE in Gisagara District.
She appealed to the participants to spare time to reflect on the knowledge acquired while at the 13th annual holiday camp for ImbutoZitoshye.

The First Lady underscored the importance of mental health and encouraged the youth to embrace values such as integrity, truthfulness, diligence and patriotism.
She stressed that everyone should have a vision and a heart to persevere if they are to achieve their goals.
“We are always delighted to hear about different impactful ventures taken by your elder colleagues. Those success stories are a source of strength, showing us that the hardships you endure are not in vain.”
At the same ceremony, the best performer countrywide at the Ordinary Level nation examinations, Kelie Umutoniwase was among the student awarded for excellence.
