RWANDA-UGANDA: Museveni, Kagame to meet at common border

The next Quadripartite Summit will take place in Gatuna/Katuna at the common border between Rwanda and Uganda on February21, 2020, said a statement released January2 at the end of the Luanda meeting.

The Heads of State under the mediation of the Angolan President João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço have agreed to release prisoners and withdraw support for “destabilisers” and protect citizens’ human rights among others.  

“Uganda-Rwanda meeting in Luanda has ended. Five key resolutions arrived at. Release of prisoners, no support for “destabilisers”, protect citizens human rights, Ad Hoc team to continue & heads of state to meet again 21/2/2020 at Katuna border,”  said Don Wanyama, the Press Secretary of President Museveni  through a tweet.

This third Quadripartite Summit attended by Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni, Congolese President Félix Antoine Tshisekedi and Rwandan Presidentwas was called by H.E Angolan President João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço.

“His Excellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, President of the republic of Uganda and His Excellency Paul Kagame, President of the republic of Rwanda, have pledged to take subsequent steps towards peace, stability, good neighbourliness and restoring mutual trust,” reads the statement in parts
