The MSC was founded in 1899 by Rev. Sr. Maria Rafaela of Spain. The colourful reception of the nuns started with a mass presided over by Rulindo Catholic Priest, Damien Kimenyi. In his Sermon he called on the school community to accept God to guide their lives and stressed that they needed to appreciate the love of Jesus and the Holy Mother Mary.
“Christians need God in their lives for spiritual growth and the Holy Spirit will give guidance and society will know by the Christian values you uphold. Accept the love of Jesus Christ and the Holy Mother Mary,” Rev.Fr. Kimenyi told a students dominated Congregation.
“Don’t fear when you are with Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit will strengthen you,” added Rev.Fr. Kimenyi.
The ceremony was also attended by Rev. Fr. Onesphore Ntivuguruzwa in Charge of Education in the Archdiocese of Kigali.
