“The office I aspire to occupy will create yet another opportunity for me to pursue my dream of changing the livelihoods of Rwandan citizens in Kamonyi District by mobilizing them into carrying out modern commercial farming,” said Nyetera during a presser on November 10, 2021 at the Head Office of Light Publications Ltd in the capital, Kigali.

“It is better to tackle the problem of poverty and poor living standards including food insecurity from the root causes, that is the reason why my manifesto comprehensively addresses the systemic problems and challenges faced by smallholder farmers,” added Nyetera.

Currently, Mr. Nyetera, a holder of a Master’s Degree in Business Administration runs modern commercial farms in Karama Sector of Kamonyi District in Rwanda’s Southern Province.

“I have farms of high yielding cash crops, that are highly demanded on the international market, and this is a recent innovation in Rwanda’s Agriculture sector – I own farms of Chia seed, Quinoa, Macadamia alongside bee keeping and sooner or later will be demonstration farms where farmers in the district can get knowledge and best practices of growing such high revenue cash crops,” remarked Nyetera.

Chia seed, the Kamonyi’s prominent Agriculturalist says, it has a short maturing period of only three months.
