Kagame appoints Nsabimana, Uwase to Cabinet

President Paul Kagame has appointed Dr. Ernest Nsabimana new Minister of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Eng. Patricia Uwase as State Minister in the same Ministry said a statement today from the Prime Minister’s office.
Dr. Nsabimana has been serving as the Director-General of Rwanda Utilities Regulatory Authority (RURA) while Uwase has been the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Infrastructure.
The Changes in Cabinet saw Amb. Claver Gatete dropped from Cabinet to a new job of Ambassador-Designate and Permanent Representative of Rwanda to the United Nations Headquarters in New York.
Amb. Claver Gatete was appointed as the Minister of Infrastructure on April 6, 2018.
Prior to this appointment, he served as Minister of Finance and Economic Planning since February 2013. He had previously served as the Governor of the National Bank of Rwanda (2011 to 2013), having previously served as its Deputy Governor. Amb. Gatete also served as Rwanda’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Ireland, and Iceland from November 2005 to December 2009.
