Ukraine Defense Minister sacked

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has sacked his Defense Minister, Oleksii Reznikov on ground of reinforcing new strategies aimed at finding lasting solutions to the ongoing bloody war.
Ukraine has been at war with Russia for the last 19 months.
Zelensky ati “During this week the Parliament will decide on the matter conclusively. I made the decision to replace the Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov, after 550 days in the office during the bloody conflict,” said Volodymyr Zelensky
Zelensky has appointed Rustem Umerov who has been serving as a Legislator as the new Minister of Defense.
Reznikov has served as Defense Minister since 2021 along being the Deputy Prime Minister of the war-ravaged European nation.
Notably, there have been widespread allegations of corruption in the Ministry of Defense.
