Speaking at the event as the Guest of honor Antoine Cardinal Kambanda spoke strong words of affirmation of faith urging the masses to live a christened lifestyle.
He said it is a double blessing to celebrate the five-year anniversary and at the same time celebrating the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus.
He added it is also to those who passed here and others that were trained here. We thank almighty who loved us as the reason he came to dwell here. “The Most Sacred Heart of Jesus is an important day in catholic church particularly the nuns working as the educationalist at this home.”
“A scared heart is stained by sin and purified by the grace of God. Jesus Christ the son of the God-person who came to show love. The heart of God is the extra-ordinary.”
“It is sad however, how God loves us yet the people don’t know his love. The love of God is manifested in his unrelenting to give his life to save us,” he said.
“Do as the child of the light did until God comes to take you,” the top catholic priest said during the mass, adding “Receive the light of the Christ.”
Using the scripture Matthew 5:13 which states you are the salt of the earth, Kambanda urged the congregation to be kind to people so that they become a blessing to the many.
On the same note, he lauded Dr. SINA GERARD for his contribution towards the establishment of the church.
“I thank Dr. SINA GERARD because he wished that everyone who studied here followed a divine path.”
“The knowledge and example you have shown to us creates inspiration to follow God even more. May God bless you?” he added.
He urged students of College Fondation Sina Gerard to continue the journey of following Christ where necessary.
He added that preparing the future is sustainable when the children are nurtured well through education emphasizing that “it is the best way of preparing the future of our children.”
“When you a project of one year you plant a rice and reap the next year and it is over. If you have a project of 10 years you plant trees. You plant avocado trees, you plant lemon trees and macadamia and harvest its produce for the ten years and then won out. But if you want a project of 100 years and above you nurture a child even after you have gone you grow well a child which he gives to his children and grandchildren and will last for generations and generations.”
On another hand, Dr. SINA GERARD speech embarked on virtues of love and kindness in his inspirational speech.
He recognized the presence of the dignitaries and priests that participated the five years’ celebration of the St. Gerald Chapelle.
“Honorable retired Bishop of Byumba Diocese, Sevelien Nzakamwita, Antoine Cardinal Kambanda, Honorable retired archbishop of Kigali, Thadee Ntihinyurwa, Honorable church members here present I thank you,” he said. He continues saying “this day coincides with celebrating the righteous heart of Jesus.”
“Honorable retired archbishop of Kigali, Thadee Ntihinyurwa I thank you for your contribution in authorizing us toward the construction of the church. I also thank the retired bishop of Byumba Diocese, Sevelien Nzakamwita for his unceasing love.”
He went ahead saying the righteous heart is love. “How can you prove that you loved without loving the neighbor?”
“The one near you is the one you should love and because God uses his people to reflect his goodness,” he added.
He disclosed that College Fondation Sina Gerard would be in vain had it not been building it under the values of Christianity.
“College Fondation Sina Gerard was a good idea but adding it into godly virtues was a necessity,” he concluded.
Sister Pacifique Batete one of the students who studied at College Fondation Sina Gerard and now a catholic nun urged the students to follow her step of devoting to God.
First and foremost, I thank God who gathered us here to celebrate the five years of blessings. It is a blessing to all of us gathered here.
