Rwandan national football head coach Vincent Mashami said before traveling to Maputo his side must do everything right to subdue Mozambique during the vital first-leg clash against Mozambique away in Maputo on November 14.
Mashami said that Rwanda must do everything right during the 2021 Africa Cup of National, Group F double qualifying ties against Mozambique and Cameroon due this month.
“The team is prepared, the team needs to maintain the strong momentum of winning in order to win the opening matches because they are crucial,’ he noted.
Amavubi traveled to Maputo on Sunday at night, from Thursday game they will have a mountain to climb against Cameroon in Kigali on November 17, 2019.
They have to stage impressive performances in Group F to at least finish on top of the standings to guarantee their safe passage to the second continental appearance.
The coach dropped four players namely: Ally Niyonzima who plies his trade in Oman, APR FC duo Djabel Manishimwe, Danny Usengimana, and Police FC goalie Emmanuel Gahungu Habarurema.
These will be the first and second games in the groups, the third and fourth are slated for August 31 and September 8, 2020. The fifth match round is slated between October 2-13, while the final round is due to be played between November 9-17.
The 2021 Games will be played in Cameroon in April, the Rwandan side last reached their first Africa Cup of Nations tournament for the first time in 2004 but got eliminated in the group stage.
