Some 200 children aged 12 years old and below will live to remember this Sunday which climaxed in a cake cutting ceremony. The children from all corners of Rwanda were today hosted by the First Lady Mrs Jeannette Kagame for the annual End of Year Children’s Party at Village Urugwiro.

The highly spirited and delighted children participated in a variety of games as well as performances in music and dance. Aside from exchanging gifts the party was an occasion for the children to make friends.

Also, End of Year Children’s Party is a platform where the minors learn to interact with adults for a good cause. Mrs. Kagame usually encourages them to befriend their parents and be open with them in order to share their feelings – bad or good.

Many Rwandans see the event as very important because children in this age bracket are in their formative years and hence the environment they grow in and love they’re shown have a bearing on the characters they develop and the kind of people they will become.
