Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that his country was honoured to support President Paul Kagame’s vehement efforts in fighting the COVID-19 and advancing the impressive development of the east African nation currently on the right development trajectory.
Modi revealed his passionate opinion about Rwanda during courtesy telephone discussions on June5 with his counterpart on the COVID-19 pandemic and bilateral relations.
The Prime Minister thanked President Kagame for the effective management of the COVID-19 crisis.
“Rwanda has managed the COVID-19 crisis effectively under your leadership. India is honoured to support your efforts, not only for fighting the pandemic but also for advancing Rwanda’s impressive development story,” observed Modi through a tweet.
“Rwanda is, and will remain, an important pillar of India’s relationship with Africa,” he added.
President Kagame said that their discussion centred on the excellent relations that have existed between India and Rwanda.
Kagame delivered the appreciation of the Rwandan people for the donation his country got from India to fight the new Coronavirus pandemic.
“Had a very good call with my friend PM @narendramodi. We discussed our historically good relationship and the support India continues to offer us,” said President Kagame through a tweet..
“I thanked him for the medical supplies&equipments India donated to Rwanda in this fight against #Covid19. It is very much appreciated,” added Kagame.
