COVID-19: cases surge in the city of Kigali, 49 identified Tuesday

The latest Coronavirus cases update in the City of Kigali shows a rise from two (2) cases on July6 to 49 today out of the total of 59 identified after testing 2,871 people. The Ministry of Health has said that the Kigali cases were mostly previous contacts with people who were identified from the Sectors currently under a lockdown.

This brings the total number of Coronavirus cases to 1172 since Rwanda identified the first case on March14.

Rusizi District, with Sectors still in a lockdown recorded 5 cases up from one (1) case yesterday.

Nyamasheke has recorded three (3) while Nyagatare and Kirehe have one case each.

Notably, recoveries have gone up from 8 yesterday to 20 today bringing the total number of recoveries to 595 countrywide.
