Rwanda Investigation Bureau (RIB) Secretary General Col (Rtd) Jeannot Ruhunga told the presser on July 28 that investigations launched into graft allegations leveled on Amb. Claver Gatete, the Minister of Infrastructure are still ongoing.
“At this point we cannot say we have enough evidence to suggest that he was directly involved in embezzling or mismanaging funds for us to arrive at a conclusion but the investigations are continuing. We will let you know the outcome,” said Ruhunga.
Recently, an allegation emerged that high profile public officials including Caleb Rwamuganza, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning were involved in the purchase of a building at Rwf2 billion, a price far above its actual value.
