Uganda’s Speaker of Parliament Dies in US

Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni March 20, 2022 confirmed the passing on of his country’s Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Jacob Oulanyah.
“Countrymen and Countrywomen. It is with a lot of sadness that I announce the death of the Rt. Hon. Jacob Oulanyah, the Speaker of Parliament,” said Museveni through a tweet.
“I got information of this sad news at 10.30am, East African time from People that have been with him and the doctor that was caring for him in the intensive care unit, added Museveni.
Official sources said that Oulanyah breathed his last Sunday morning in Seattle, US where he has spent a couple of days bedridden
