Rwandan President Paul Kagame was on Tuesday evening received by a cheering, mammoth crowd in Oyo, the hometown of his Congolese counterpart, Denis Sassou Nguesso. The Oyo inhabitants braved long hours of waiting to take a glimpse at President Kagame, a demonstration of the friendship existing between the Congolese and Rwandese people.
President Kagame stated his three-day state visit to the Central African nation on April 11.
His host led him on a tour of a modern farm before proceeding for a tête-à-tête dinner, added the statement.
“President Kagame has arrived in Oyo, hometown of President Sassou Nguesso where the two Heads of State will tour a farm and meet for a tête-à-tête dinner later this evening,” said a statement from Village Urugwiro, Rwanda’s State House.
Earlier in the day President Kagame and President Sassou Nguesso presided over the signing of bilateral agreements in sectors of economic partnership, mining, SMEs and handcrafts, culture and arts.
Members of the delegations from both brotherly African nations held a bilateral meeting.
