RWANDA ELECTION 2024: Kagame leads with 99.15%

President Paul Kagame, the Chairman of the ruling Rwanda Patriotic Front (RPF-Inkotanyi) is in the lead with 99.15 per cent representing 7,099,810 votes according to partial results.
The national electoral commission (NEC) released the results after a-78.94 per cent vote count which translates to 7,160,464 votes out of 9,071,157 registered voters.
Dr. Frank Habineza, the flagbearer for the Democratic Green Party of Rwanda (DGPR) trails behing Kagame with 0.53 per cent representing 38,301 votes while Independent candidate Philippe Mpayimana garnered 0.32 per cent translating to 22,753 votes.
Oda Gasinzigwa, the chairperson of NEC says the turn up in diaspora is 52.73 per cent and assured Rwandans that preliminary results for parliamentary elections will be released tomorrow while final results will be announced on July 27.
