Challenger’s cricket team beat Rights Guards by 39 runs

Challengers Cricket Club beat Right Guards by 39 runs in the men Division 1 UNIMONI-Rwanda Cricket Association Premier League game played on Sunday at Gahanga Cricket Ground.
Batting first, Right Guards posted 124/7 in 37 overs in return Challengers put on a good chase for 166/5 in 30 overs before the game was determined by DL method because of the weather.
Batting for Rights Guards, Eric Dusingizimana put on 40 runs off 78 balls, his teammate Clinton Rubagumya had 31 runs off 39 balls.
Challengers captain Srinath Vardhineni put on 2 wickets 27 runs in 9 overs, Bob Songa Bashir managed 38 runs off 46 balls while Arnold Otwani was named the player of the match after posting 71 runs off 90 balls while batting.
In the men’s Div 2 game that was also played on the same day at Kicukiro cricket oval, the two tigers faced off and Zonic Tigers Cricket Club beat Telugu Tigers to win by 74 runs.
Winning the toss and electing to bat first, Zonic posted 251/3 in 39 overs in return Telugu fall short when they only managed 177/10 in 34 overs.
Zonic cricket club player Uvan Thawithamwire put on 100 runs off 94 balls to become player of the match.
