5,000 teachers empowered in digital teaching methods

The Information and Communications Technology (ICT) training, which the teachers and head teachers have received aligns with the support teachers should receive in order to fulfil their duties.
Nelson Mbarushimana, the Director General at Rwanda Basic Education (REB) remarked September11 while presiding over the graduation ceremony of more than 5,000 teachers and head teachers.
“This training is in line of supporting you, the teachers, to fulfil your duties,” said Mbarushimana.
He urged teachers to fully support to the learners stressing that they will be leaders of the nation in the future.
“I request to fully support the students who are future leaders of this country,” added Mbarushimana.
The third training cohort was organized and supported by RwandaEquip in collaboration with REB.
Several experts and media personalities welcomed the efforts that aim at empowering the teachers with ICT skills as timely and are optimistic the quality of teaching and learning will drastically improve in the country.
“Ready and armed for the new academic year. This will immensely have an impact on teaching outcomes and at the same time bring the country up to speed in promoting education technology and hybrid learning,” observed Edmund Kagire.
“Integrating technology in teaching is the way to go,” added Kagire.
“Massive congratulations to over 5,000 teachers and head teachers who graduated today from the 3rd and largest training cohort,” remarked Pam wa Mudakikwa, a communication Consultant.

“They have acquired knowledge and skills for tech-driven teaching and effective school management. Looking forward to digital transformations in our education system,” she added.
